Filtered Water Dispenser For Your Pet
Idea posted June 25, 2014 by michelle granieri
Filtered Water Dispenser For Your Pet
Filtered Water Dispenser For Your Pet (Co Branded with Brita Water Filters)

American's love their pets! One might dare say that sometimes they love their furry family members more than they love their children. According to a recent US News report, American's spend approx $61 BILLION annually on their pets.

As all pet owners know, keeping your pet hydrated is essential to keeping your pet healthy.

While there are pet water fountains on the market today, none of them carry the trusted name of Brita/Fresh Step. Some even require that the unit be plugged in to operate. Online I found several posts from pet owners discussing how they often filter their water through the Brita pitcher before pouring it into their pet's water bowls. http://blog.waterfilters.net/blog/5-reasons-dog-drinks-filtered-water/  Seems that I'm not alone in being interested in having a  product that saves that step.

scoop away 42 lb bag packaging
Idea posted June 18, 2014 by Lori Bianco
scoop away 42 lb bag packaging

I was not thrilled when you changed from the 'buckets' of litter to the very clumsy bag of cat litter with the ineffective handle, however I realized that you were trying to eliminate the expensive bucket, and perhaps be more 'green' in your packaging.

I think the handle has definitely been made less effective in the last 2 years, as I have had 2 bags break at the handle within the last month.

enough of that...I know you are keeping the packaging, but I would like to recommend the opening be made larger and the  pouring would be easier, but most importantly, we can reuse the bag by filling with used litter for easy disposal.

They are very nice sturdy bags, and it would be senseless to trash them with out at least trying to recycle it for one last use.

    thanks for considering this suggestion.

    Oil and grease cleanup

I recently changed the oil in my truck and did not know the container had a hole in it. More than 5 quarts of oil spread over my driveway. I grabbed a bag of Fresh Step and spread it out. Then all I had to do was sweep it up!

How to make a 25 lb box of litter easier to deal with
Idea posted May 16, 2014 by Happy cats
How to make a 25 lb box of litter easier to deal with

My problem is the packaging of the 25 lb boxes of litter.  I have 3 cats and I always use this litter, but every time I have to open a new box I get frustrated.  The Box has a pull tab on the side which (1) is hard to get started, (2) usually won't pull all the way around.  If it does happen to open as it is supposed to,  try picking it up.  If you pick it up by the handle it tears the lid back and you can't move the box.  I usually have to tear the lid back and use a scoop to get the litter to the cat box.  I guess that would be ok, but all of the cat boxes are not in the same spot.  Why not put the litter in a light weight container like a gallon milk jug.  The handle and the lid would need to bigger, but it sure would be easier to lift and carry, and to open and use.

    Fresh Step Disposable Pans1
Idea posted May 6, 2014 by Sandymc
    Fresh Step Disposable Pans

Wouldn't it be nice if they made a Fresh Step pan that was already filled with cat litter and disposable.  You would buy them in multiple sets, filled one on top of the other.  When you needed to change out the litter, toss the pan and just grab a new one from the stack, already filled.  Not filling from a jar or bag.  How convenient would that be.

    handles for 42 lbs. containers
Idea posted April 29, 2014 by Fresh step
    handles for 42 lbs. containers

I currently purchase the 42 lbs. cat litter containers whenever possible.  The container has a plastic handle on the side , however due to the weight,  this handle comes away from the package and can cause the container to spill contents.

My idea is to have two straps wrapping the entire container, meeting at the top and bottom with a handle.  This will make the package easier to get off the grocery shelf, out of the cart and into your house.  A handle at the bottom of the container would hold the container upright while emptying into the litter box.  I currently empty the container by laying it down and pulling the container up from the bottom.  This does not always work and the litter spills from the container.

A handle on both the top and bottoms of the package would assist the consumer by making it easier to handle, empty and retain for further use.  It would also guarantee that the container does not come open unexpectantly.

odor Absorbency Pads with disposable bags
Idea posted March 22, 2014 by maria
odor Absorbency Pads with disposable bags

To have odor absorbency pads that fit under the cat litter to soak up the remaining wetness from the litter after it sits. Scooping out the wetness makes it hard on the litter scoop especially when a cat urinates in same spot. Also, i think a disposable bag included with these help get the litter out a little easier and less mess draw string n go
