Being in kitty rescue and the owner of 8 kitties myself I've always used Fresh Step litter. It's the best one out there, no holds barred. I used to have problems with some of my kitties not liking a litter so they would not get in the box. They would go just outside the box or a very undesireable area in my home such as the shower or basement:(   Once I started using Fresh Step I had no problems with my finicky kitties, everyone used it without fail. I love the odor control version for obvious reasons but noticed the fragrance would disapate the longer it was in the box. I would love to see a timed release crystal in the litter that would continually help with odors. Another idea I have is just a cosmetic one. How about different colored litters?? You know like they use in fish tanks? A pretty green or blue or pink !   I think it would be fun and everyone loves a little color in their home now matter where it is!  you could have a nice pink color with a slight rose fragrance to it and so on. I'd buy that in one second flat!

I would love to see a litter with a doggie proof substance added to it. We have a problem with the dog getting into the litter, so right now we moved the boxes to another room. It would be nice not to have to do that.

We are certainly in the new age where America color codes, and is willing to pay for difference and style

My idea is { Pink is for girls} a pretty kitty sachet around with 

her nails done,a stunning collar with bling and a bow in her hair,possibly a black leather jacket that says Pink!

pink kitty litter,mixed with charcoal filters that are colored hot pink with water color pink,    {Pink Is For Girls}   

I believe America will buy ,{ Pink is for girls}

A self-cleaning litterbox would be very convenient. It could either use disposable litter pellets or reusable plastic pellets that can be washed. It would have a sweeping mechanism to remove solids and the washing system would eliminate urine and odor. Not only would this safe a lot of time, it would also save money because you would be reusing litter and simply cleaning it. A biodegradable soap could be replaced in the form of refills and would be the only thing you need to buy!

I empty my cat's dirty litter into plastic grocery bags that I keep in a small waste basket next to the litter box.  This is a cheap way out but the bags look messy and can't contain odors.  Worse, California and other states are passing laws that will make it so we will not be able to get these plastic bags from grocery stores or even big stores like Walmart.  My idea would be to make a box that could hold a roll* of Glad OdorShield bags that could be pulled out individually and used for dirty litter.  It would be nice if these bags were the same color as the Fresh Step boxes and had a logo of the Fresh Step kitty on them.  The box could come with a roll of 30 bags and refills could be available separately. 

*Glad Odor Shield bags are not available in a roll, only in a flat box.  It would be nice if the bags could be composted and possibly be infused with a scent (vanilla or lavender) like the bigger Glad OdorShield bags.
