1. 1.     ELIGIBILITY: The Eight my !DEA Clorox® Connects Consumer Ideation Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (except Rhode Island) and the District of Columbia who (i) have CloroxConnects.com user accounts (FREE) and are adults at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry; (ii) are not presently signed under any exclusive agreements and/or other contractual arrangements related to any invention idea proposed for submission in this Sweepstakes; (iii) have Internet access as of January 1^th, 2013 and (iv) have not and will not purchase any special equipment for the purposes of entering into this Sweepstakes (respectively, the “Entrant” or “Entrants”). Potential Entrants must have a CloroxConnects.com user-account to participate and can create one for FREE at CloroxConnects.com. The Sweepstakes is void in Rhode Island and where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law and is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
2. 2.     AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in this Sweepstakes constitutes Entrant’s full, unconditional agreement to these Official Rules, and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon Entrant’s fulfillment of all of the requirements as set forth herein.
3. 3.     TIMING: The Sweepstakes begins on April 1^st 2013 at 12:00 a.m. PST, ends on June 30^th, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. PST (the "Sweepstakes Period") as set forth in the chart below. Sponsor’s computer system shall be the official time-keeping device in connection with this Sweepstakes.

Employees of The Clorox Company (“Sponsor”), RightNow Technologies, Inc., HiveLive, Inc., and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies, suppliers, distributors, prize suppliers, and/or any other entity or person involved with the production, design, execution, administration or distribution of this Sweepstakes (“Sponsor and its Agents”), as well as the immediate family members (i.e., spouses, parents, siblings and children) and persons living in the same household of each, are not eligible to enter or win.

1. 4.     HOW TO ENTER; Process:  To enter, please;

• First visit www.mycloroxidea.com (the “Site”) anytime between 12:00 a.m. PST April 1^st 2013 and 11:59:59 p.m. PST June 30^th 2013 (the “Sweepstakes Period”) and create a FREE online user account by clicking the “Join as a Consumer” button to input your (i) email address, (ii) create a login ID, password and display name; and (iii) read and agree to the online Terms of Use and these Sweepstakes Official Rules.
• Next, follow the instruction prompts to enter the Sweepstakes and type-in a description of your original, previously unpublished invention idea which you feel may be relevant to Sponsor’s products, processes, services and/or related area of the consumer products industry in three-hundred (300) words or less and click “SUBMIT.” Your CloroxConnects.com account information, together with your textual invention idea description will comprise your Sweepstakes submission (collectively, the “Entry” or “Entries”). For each Entry submitted the corresponding Entrant will receive one (1) entry in the Sweepstakes drawing pool (up to a maximum of ten (10) Entries during the entire Sweepstakes Period). Entries received from any Entrant in excess of the stated limit will be void.

Note:  You may also include with your Entry(ies) one (1) illustrative drawing or schematic related to your invention idea, but submission of drawings/schematics with an Entry is not required for purposes of this Sweepstakes. Any drawings or schematics accompanying Entry(ies) must be submitted in either .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .png, .tiff. or .pdf file formats and must be no larger than five (5) MB in size.

No other methods of entry will be accepted. All Entries must conform to the content, format and size requirements outlined in Section 5 (the “Invention Submission Guidelines”). Creation of the CloroxConnects.com account and submission of all requested information online is required for entry in the Sweepstakes. Completed Entries must be sent electronically during the Sweepstakes Period and received by 11:59:59 p.m. PST on the Sweepstakes Period Entry Window close date as indicated in the chart in Section 3 of these Official Rules. Proof of submission of Sweepstakes Entry is not proof of delivery or receipt of such Entry by Sponsor and/or its Agents. Use of a false email account will disqualify an Entry. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. In the event of a dispute as to any Entry or the identity of an Entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address used at time of entry to register for the CloroxConnects.com account will be deemed to be the Entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The Entrant may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.

Limits on Entry:  Up to a maximum of ten (10) separate Entries will be accepted per username and/or email address throughout the entire Sweepstakes Period, but each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize in this Sweepstakes, regardless of the number of Entries entered. Though Entrants may submit more than one (1) Entry, once an individual Entry has been submitted, that particular Entry cannot later be modified.

Entries will not be returned. Sponsor and its Agents are not responsible for lost, late, intercepted, incomplete, incorrect, inaccurate, illegible, garbled, damaged, or misdirected Entries, or Entries not otherwise received by Sponsor, or for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, failed or unavailable network connections, or delayed electronic or other communications, or other technical problems related to website Entries. Any communication or information transmitted to Sponsor and/or the Site by electronic mail or otherwise is and will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary. By entering, Entrants accept and agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules.

By accepting Entries in this Sweepstakes, Sponsor and/or its Agents accept no responsibility or liability for any breach of contract or any infringement or other violation of copyright or any other intellectual property right or proprietary rights.

1. 5.     INVENTION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:  You must have the legal right to upload, post, or otherwise disclose or make available each Entry before you do so and all Entries must conform to the following Invention Submission Guidelines:

• Entries must reflect invention ideas relevant to Sponsor’s products, processes, services and/or related area of the consumer products industry;
• Entries must contain Entrant’s own original, previously unpublished work (“Original Creations”);
• Entries must not have been submitted in other Sweepstakes or been previously published;
• Entries must not contain any third party copyrighted materials and must not otherwise violate or infringe the rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, trademark rights or rights of publicity/privacy, of any third party;
• Entries must not contain confidential, trade secret or other proprietary information of any third party;
• Drawings or schematics accompanying Entry(ies) are not required, but if submitted must be in either .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .png, .tiff. or .pdf file formats and no larger than five (5) MB in size;
• Entries must be suitable for publication (i.e. no obscene, offensive, indecent, explicit language, pornographic or sexual content, racial or ethnic slurs, libelous or hate speech, or otherwise objectionable, offensive or illegal materials), as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

By entering, and/or uploading a potential Entry in this Sweepstakes, each Entrant warrants that he/she owns 100% of all rights in and to his/her Entry (including all copyrights contained therein) and that his/her Entry(ies) (i) contain only his/her Original Creations; (ii) do not contain any third party copyrighted materials, and otherwise do not violate or infringe the rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, trademark rights or rights of publicity/privacy, of any third party and otherwise conform with the above Invention Submission Guidelines; (iii) requires no additional permissions relating to the Entry submitted in this Sweepstakes; (iv) are suitable for publication (i.e. not obscene, offensive or indecent), and (v) have not have been submitted in other Sweepstakes or been previously published.

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry(ies) that, in Sponsor's sole and absolute discretion, incorporate non-Original Creations, or prohibited content, or that otherwise violate the above Invention Submission Guidelines, which such Entry(ies) will not be accepted for entry in this Sweepstakes, or any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the Site, or who otherwise violates these Official Rules.

6.   ENTRANTS’ OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE OF ENTRIES AND POTENTIAL ASSIGNMENT OF WINNING ENTRIES:  By submitting an Entry and entering this Sweepstakes, each Entrant hereby grants (i) to Sponsor and its Agents, an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable right and fully-paid up, fully-sublicensable license, under any and all such rights, to use, post, host, store, cache, index, archive, crawl, reproduce, duplicate, distribute, modify, edit, composit, remix, morph, scan, excerpt, adapt, alter, prepare derivative works of, publicly perform and/or publicly display (without any restrictions as to changes), to publish (or not publish), in whole or in part, or otherwise exploit in any manner, his/her Entry(ies), user or screen name(s), hometown(s), voice and/or likeness, name and biographical information on the Site, www.cloroxconnects.com and/or other website(s) owned and/or controlled by Sponsor, in and in connection with this Sweepstakes, or other promotion, publicity and advertising for Sponsor, its products and/or services or other commercial purposes, including without limitation, the right to publicly display, perform, reproduce and distribute the Entry(ies) in any media format or medium (whether now or hereafter known) and through any media channels and without any further attribution, notification or compensation to the Entrant, his/her successors or assigns, or any other person or entity (except if Entrant is a resident of Tennessee or otherwise where such actions are prohibited by law); and (ii) to other users of the Site, a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to access, distribute and/or display his/her Entry(ies) through the Site and to rate, review, comment on and tag the Entry(ies).

By submitting an Entry and entering this Sweepstakes, each Entrant agrees upon submission of his or her Entry, and only if selected as a winner, , to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor any and all rights, title, and interest in and to his/her Entry (and any artwork submitted as part of the Entry), including without limitation, all copyrights contained therein and a waiver of any and all so-called moral rights he or she may have in the Entry and/or any accompanying artwork, and agrees to effect such assignment in writing in the form provided by Sponsor as a condition of prize claim and/or acceptance.

Except for the winning Entries and the personally identifiable information comprising portions of all Entries, neither Sponsor nor its Agents shall acquire any ownership of or ownership rights in or to any Entries submitted in this Sweepstakes.

7.   WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION:  Beginning on or about the Prize Drawing Date indicated in Section 3 of these Official Rules, Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes, will randomly select one (1) potential Grand Prize winner and four (4) potential Second Prize winners (total of five (5) potential “Winners”) from among all eligible Entries received during the Sweepstakes Period Entry Window.

Potential Winners will be notified within five (5) days of the Prize Drawing Date by an email sent to the email address specified at the time of CloroxConnects.com account creation and Sweepstakes entry. If potential Winner(s) cannot be contacted at this email address, is contacted and does not respond as directed within fourteen (14) days of attempted notification, refuses the prize or is ineligible to accept the prize, prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Potential Winners will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Copyright Assignment or Confirmatory Copyright Assignment and, except where prohibited, Liability/Publicity Release, in the form provided by Sponsor, within fourteen (14) days of attempted notification in order to claim prize. If a Winner is 18 or older, as required, but a minor in his or her state of residence, the prize will be awarded in the name of the minor's parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for signing any necessary releases, consents, copyright assignments and affidavits.

8.   PRIZES:  Five (5) total prizes will be awarded in this Sweepstakes by random drawing;

One (1) Grand Prize:  One (1) randomly selected winner will receive one (1) check in the amount of one-thousand dollars ($1,000.00) USD.

Four (4) Second Prizes:  Four (4) randomly selected winners will each receive one (1) check in the amount of two-hundred and fifty dollars ($250) USD.

Total aggregate value of all prizes: two-thousand ($2,000) USD. Odds of winning any prize depend upon the number of eligible Entries received in this Sweepstakes.

Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of Prizes for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute Prize of approximately equal value. All expenses not specified above, including, without limitation, all federal, state and local taxes, and international tariffs, are the sole responsibility of each individual Winner. Only the advertised number of prizes and those claimed in accordance with these Official Rules will be awarded. Winners may be required to provide a U.S. shipping address to claim prize. Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of prize.

9.   GENERAL CONDITIONS; RELEASE; LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:  Sponsor and its Agents are not in any way responsible or liable for damages, loss or injury resulting from Entrants' participation in this Sweepstakes, any Sweepstakes related activity, or the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use or mis-use of any prizes awarded. Entrants and Winners assume sole liability and accept all risk of loss for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use or mis-use of any prize awarded. Sponsor has the right to cancel, terminate or modify this Sweepstakes if it cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond Sponsor's control, including, without limitation, insufficient volume of eligible entries, and to select winners from eligible entries received on or before the termination date. Sponsor and its Agents are not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error.

By entering, each Entrant hereby acknowledges and agrees (i) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor; (ii) to be contacted by Sponsor or its Agents by telephone, mail or email regarding this Sweepstakes; and (iii)  that the relationship between the Entrant and Sponsor, or the Entrant and Sponsor’s agents, is not a confidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship, and that the Entrant's decision to submit an Entry in this Sweepstakes does not place Sponsor, or its Agents, in a position that is any different from the position held by the members of the general public with regard to any Original Creation elements of the Entrant's Entry. Acceptance of Entries and/or Selection of winners in this Sweepstakes creates no obligation (express or implied) on the part of Sponsor and/or its Agents to use, commercialize or otherwise exploit any Entrant’s or Winner’s Entry or invention idea and Entrants shall not be entitled to any damages or other relief by reason of Sponsor's and/or its Agents’ use or non-use of any Entry. Sponsor and its Agents will make no payment(s) to any Entrant or Winner for entering this Sweepstakes or (except for the prize(s) offered in this Sweepstakes) in association with his/her randomly selected winning Entry. The Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States and all claims must be resolved in the United States.

10.  PERSONAL INFORMATION:  Personal information collected in this Sweepstakes will be used by Sponsor and/or its Agents in accordance with these Official Rules and for the purposes of administering the Sweepstakes and awarding prizes, or for future direct communications based on the consent granted at the time personal information is/was collected and as otherwise permitted or required by law. By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to Sponsor’s and/or its Agents’ use of his/her personal information as set forth herein. Except as otherwise stated in these Official Rules, personal information collected from Entrants is subject to The Clorox Company Privacy Policy http://www.clorox.com/global_privacy.php.

11.  WINNERS LIST:  Once all Winners have been selected and verified, a winners list will be available by sending a stamped, self addressed envelope marked “CloroxConnects Consumer Ideation Sweepstakes,” Attn: Greg Piche, 7208 Johnson Drive, Pleasanton, CA  94588-8004 to be received by December 31^st 2013.
