Title of Your Idea:
Stain Fighter for Mattresses
What's Your Idea?:
Something that you can spray into your mattresses for a stain such as pee, especially when you have kids. Something that will not have harsh chemicals.
Since I haven't found a product, what I use (when my daugher's mattress cover moves and she wets the bed), is baking soda. I dry it as much as possible with a towel and then spread baking soda to soak up any smell and urine that is left. I let it dry a while then vacuum it up. I hope that helps until there is a product out there. Great idea!
Unlike clothes and linens, which can be washed, mattresse are a permanent fixture in your home. How nice it would be to have a product to clean it periodically. I'm allergic to dust mites. The doctors recommend washing my linens in bleach, but there is no easy fix for the mattress.

Hydrogen Peroxide is completely safe, disinfects, and kills organic stains. In fact, oxygen bleach is just the solid form of Hydrogen Peroxide. I spray furniture/carpets/etc. with HP that I keep in a spray bottle when we have a pee problem. Just another thing to try. :-)
This also would be a tremendous aid for caregivers and/or incontinent adults. Unfortunately, my experience with enzymatic pet stain products has not been totally successful; do not remove all of the stains.
My idea for Clorox is I need a smaller version of the magic sponge to get into tiny places. I want to clean my grout and with a smaller one I could really get in there. It would help if the sponge was stronger too and did not have pieces coming off.

Hi there -
We love your idea for a stain fighter for a mattress. In fact, we blogged about it. If you'd like to see that blog, just go to our Facebook page.
Thanks for your contributions and good luck in the contest!

We use an enzymatic pet stain product for this purpose. There is not that much difference between puppy urine and baby urine.
