    Title:
    Mother Jug
    Announcement:

In 1913, Clorox® liquid bleach was initially offered in five-gallon crockery jugs. At the time, it was used exclusively by industrial concerns, such as laundries, breweries, walnut bleachers and municipal water companies, and was delivered by horse and wagon to customers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

So far we've found only one example of this so-called "Mother Jug", measuring approximately 19.5 inches high and 11 inches in diameter, and currently displayed on the ground floor of our Oakland General Offices. If you know the whereabouts of any others, please tell us! Email Corporate.Archive@clorox.com or call (510) 271-7437.

Wow - those jugs must have cost a fortune to produce.
