This product is great for other than carpet/spot cleaning. It works GREAT to clean around light switchplates. Simply shake the can as usual and spray horizontally (don't worry about getting it on the switchplate itself - it is a foam and won't DRIP) Use a regular paper towel to wipe off and it cleans those ugly fingerprints and smudges WITHOUT affecting the paint. I have been using 409 foam spot and carpet spray for over a year without a problem affecting the paint. (I am not sure about 'faux' paint. I would test it in an unconspicuous area.) But I have used it on flat as well as glossy paints. This product also removes "scuff" marks on walls and doors without leaving a residue. Remember you must use the "FOAM-type 409; the kind that is turned upside down.
