I like that Clorox bleach gets my whites whiter, but the real reason I use it in the laundry is to kill germs on things like sheets and dish towels.  I'd love a NON-whitening additive that has the same germ-killing qualities as bleach, that I can use on non-white fabrics like lingerie and baby clothes.  Something like Clorox II, but with disinfecting powers.
