    Title of Your Idea:
    drain hair catcher
    What's Your Idea?:

My idea is simple, what it do is you put it in your drain and leave it if you want. As hair or anything falls down the drain it will be caught by the catcher and you will be able to bring it up without the water being clogged up. It will be very easy to clean just by wiping it off. I know everyone got the problem with their teenage daughters washing their hair in sinks and it ends up clogging. Well with this invention you can prevent that cause it will get caught on the grizzles on the product. Even rings and othe item can also be prevented from goin down the drain, and it also can save alot of money by not having to call any plumbers to come and unclog the drain or having to go out and by snakes to stick down there. It also can be used in bathtubs also.

Thank you for sharing a great idea!  Let's build up your idea further.  How long is this drain hair catcher?  If you want to leave it in the drain, does the pull up handle on top need to be smaller?  Thank you for your feedback.

We like your idea so much that we marked it as our favorite of the week (see the front page at www.cloroxconnects.com under my favorite ideas this week and to see it highlighted).

Hello and thank you for choosing me. How long the drain cleaner would have to be is as long as the drain itself before the curving part at the bottom because I believe if its made as long as the curve part then that would probly cause a clog. And yes, the handle has to be a bit wider then the drain hole so it would go down the drain.

Got it... I just thought it might look strange to have a handle showing up in the vanity sink... I assume you want to leave the drain hair catcher in the drain to catch all the hairs and other stuff.  Thank you for your feedback.

Wonder if there is any solution on the design of the handle... you also want a stopper to close in case you want a sink of water...

What I was thinking of about the handle is like a ring shaped handle thats a bit wider then the drain hole so it'll just take one finger to pull it out. To plug the drain is something i haven't thought about because they already have drain stoppers. But I do have an idea for a top and how it can work to plug the drain, would u like a scetch of it.

Thank you so much for all the details!  Yes, you know manufacturing well.  Plastic material is cheaper for molding.  Smile

Personally I will.  Even though I don't have a teenager daughter, I have a lot of hairs... Smile

I’ve been looking at some drains and it seems like some are made different and I came up with a way it should work on all drains. What I would have to do is make it a little bit shorter.

Are you saying to make drain hair catcher smaller or shorter to fit all drains?  Thank you for your feedback.

Shorter in lenght not width. Because i saw a couple drains with a metal piece sticking out(even if its long it still should work). But to be on the safe side just a little shorter then itll fit all drains no matter what.

Having long hair our tub gets backup at times a lot! Having something that would work for a bathtub would be awesome!! You know how you have pull tabs on things to take a sticker off? It would be great to have something like that so that you can just pull the tab and it would make it easy to remove the hair catcher from a tub. And it wouldn't stand out.

Would it be possible to make something that fits inside the hole, that catches hair but lets water run through it? And when its full you just pull the tab, lift it out of the hole, dump and it and put it back?
