Hi! Just wanted to get some thoughts on potential product ideas that could be produced and marketed under the Burt's Bees natural products brand. Ones I thought of..
Natural Microdermabrasion Gel
Natural Hair color/dyes
Natural Fade cream
Aromatherapy/ Essential oils line
Comments
Have you thought about oral care products, i.e. toothpastes and mouth rinses? Zinc citrate acts as a natural anti-microbial to reduce oral bacteria and the plaque that results. Potassium citrate is a natural pain reducer for "sensitive" oral care products as well.

Truely natural hair color and dye are very difficult. The "natural" products currently on the market do not work very well and only dark colors are available.
Is there a natural dye that you like? Why?

Hey! there..I am from India and for the longest time, Indian women have relied on Henna to color their hair. Henna in Indian salons colors hair in shades ranging from brown, red, dark brown, black etc based on a combination of ingredients - like tea, coffee, beets, cinnamon etc.
Although the effects are temporary it is better for the hair (does not penetarte the shaft, henna is a good hair-conditioner) and overall health.
I read somewhere that the natural hair color market is 10% of the annual $1.25B hair dye market..and growing fast.
Many companies like, Avalon Organics, Aubrey Organics, Dessert Essence Organics, Jason Natural Products and Simply Organic make all-natural hair colorings..I have not tried them yet, but I am pretty certain, switching to natural dyes will be compelling to many of us trying to do our bit to reduce the carbon footprint..:)

Yes if you can provide a henna hair dye kit that I know is high quality henna and I don't have to order in a mail order catalog I would get it.

I like the idea of using natural exfoliating products for smoother skin. I'm not sure if Burt's Bees already makes these products, though. Anti-aging is at least a $5 to 7 billion dollar industry annually, and people are spending tons of money on wrinkle creams, plastic surgery, etc. Something that is less invasive and more natural would be appealing to those who don't have the money for the more expensive anti-aging treatments.

People can easily make their own exfoliating bath scrub all they need is a jar, olive oil, sugar, Vitamin E capsules and their favorite essential oil or fragranced oil. If they buy in bulk then they make it really cheap. What Burt's Bees needs to do is provide that extra benefit to it, the anti-aging additive and clinical data to prove it might do it.

Thats a worthy idea, to add anti-aging ingredients! Trouble is, many of them are water soluble and tricky to put into anhydrous products. Secondly, scrubs are typically rinse-off products.

Hey, here from Buenos Aires, what about Body sprays for Baby & Moms ? I would like to have newly natural fragrances for different seasons and ocasions to out on myself or my baby. Burt´s Bees could provide also more sensorial experiences thorugh our sense of smell, may be gourmand type of notes that fits with the beeswax concept whole idea.
