    Story:

Perhaps not identical to the depiction of the Hidden Valley we see in current advertisements, but Hidden Valley® ranch dressing debuted at the Hidden Valley Ranch, located outside of Santa Barbara, California, in 1954. The ranch guest house, pictured below, became an outdoor getaway for guests to enjoy horseback riding, fishing and hiking. In the evenings, they were treated to a delicious meal, made complete with homemade buttermilk salad dressing prepared fresh daily by the ranch owner. A mail-order business started shortly after guests demanded more of this amazing product, and nowadays you can enjoy the dressing across the country. What’s your favorite way to enjoy Hidden Valley® dressings? Tell us!

Very interesting.  I had no idea of the "American Dream"-like story behind Hidden Valley.

I love the Hidden Valley made from scratch (as described above).  That's some tasty dressing.

I can't believe this!  I had no idea that Hidden Valley Ranch was a real place!  What a great story!  This should be used in the ads - I think it is really appealing!  I love to use the Ranch packets to make my dressing!  It is so delicious as a dip for chicken tenders or cheese sticks!  I think that is my favorite way to use it!
