I always have at the ready a spray bottle with a Clorox Bleach solution. One thing I do with it is deodorize my vacuum cleaner. I have a standard, bag type of upright machine. Being that we have many cats, we vacuum frequently. But the bag can get somewhat smelly between changes, and can make the room smell bad. I found that if I squirt some bleach in the hose while the vacuum is running, it remedies that problem. The exhaust spreads a mild, and pleasant smell of bleach into the room, which I always have equated with cleanliness.

Thank you for sharing a great cleaning tip. Does your vacuum have a 'steam' function? How much bleach and water do you use to make it into a solution? Thank you for your feedback!
