    Title of Your Idea:
    Bottle Cap
    What's Your Idea?:

I wish there were a bottle cap filter to pop on to my water bottle ... or even on to a bottle of wine (for wine to pass thru while pouring).

Thanks for your great idea.  Let's build your idea further by first understanding your needs better.  What kind of water bottle were you drinking from?  Bottled water?  Plastic/aluminum water bottle?  Why do you need a cap filter?  What are the advantages of installing a cap filter on a bottle of wine?  Look forward to your feedback.

I use any old plastic bottle filled with NYC tap water. So it would be nice to hve a filter cap to pop on it. As for wine, there's always those teeny bits of cork (and whatever lives on it) and I'd like to be able to pour wine, from the bottle, with the impurities of the cork gone.

I see. Can you show us how your plastic bottle looks like?  I imagine the cap filter needs to be able to fit onto most water and wine bottle.  Maybe an inch in diameter?

The best bet would be a cap with some sort of gasket at the bottom that with a turn/twist would fit on bottle necks of various sizes.

What an excellent idea.  So, you are foreseeing this will be a gadget that is attached to any bottle caps?  Will it be one-time usage then?

I see it as two parts. The gasket and cap with flip up cover (washable and reusable) and the tiny filter (which would be replaced as needed).

hmm... kind of hard to imagine... Do you mind providing a quick sketch of the gasket and cap?  I am also not sure how a tiny filter will work with the gasket and cap, especially it has to be reusable, meaning it has be designed to be open and close again.  Thank you!!

Gasket at base (some sort of rubber to fit snugly around bottle neck/mouth) ... top portion (plastic) to hold tiny (replacable) filter ...

and pop up lid (to keep liquid from pouring out). Sorry ... a draftsman I am not ;-)

I think you are picturing an innovative dispensing bottle cap similar to those that dispense vitamin powder or beverage mix.  The fun part will be figuring up how to fit a reusable filter in it.  Right?
