I was at my elderly Father's home and while he sometimes misses the lightswitch (DON'T WE ALL!!!) I tries other gentler products because I didn't want to remove the paint, as a last ditch try I used: 409 FOAM CARPET AND STAIN REMOVER - the can that you use by turing upside down. I gave a quick spray and VOILA - stains gone, fingerprints gone, and because it is a foam it doesn't interfere with the electrical. And to boot it also cleaned the switchplate! The PAINT is just as it was, with NO FADING, and NO RESIDUE. It was as if the fingerprints were never there. I have tried this on other wall scuffs and it also REMOVES THEM!!! He has a flat paint which is more subjective to leaving a residue. THIS 409 FOAM CARPET AND STAIN REMOVER is in one word: "EXCELLENT" Regular 409 doesn't work as well and it has a tendency to drip. One PAPER TOWEL works GREAT with 409 FOAM AND STAIN CARPET CLEANER. I found it at Target and LOWES Hardware Store.
