Twist and Pout (DGL Consumer Products) just introduced (June 2009) a "bee themed" Twist and Pout lip balm with SPF20 in the shape of a ball - having lip protection ingredients including beeswax, sesame seed oil, butter and other oils.
They claim a patent - but no application found to date yet.

unless it has some unique form of skin/sun protection I don't think it can be patented. There are a lot of books out there for do it yourself natural skin care that list beeswax, soils and such to make balms and such.
