, last edited April 9, 2012So we all know what a bug bomb is...the can that you push down the tab to start the spray & then evacuate & when you return the bugs are dead.
SO my idea is to have a disinfecting bomb. You would set & it up & engage it in the same way but instead of bug killer A gentle mist of Clorox or a mix a germ destroying cleaner mists it's way all over the room.Into even the littlest nook and cranny.Destroying all the nasty stuff in the room,be it everyday icky to wicked cold & flu icky that you just got rid of!
A person can clean but it's hard to be sure you get it all.
This idea works on many other levels.Ask me about my other bomb ideas for the home!!

I second this idea as being something consumers need available on the market. My wife and I walked through a short sale last week and it was the filthiest home I'd ever been in. We love the architecture and property though and are still making an offer to the bank. Our concern is how we'll ever get this place disinfected before moving in. It's over 4,000 square feet and instead of punishing ourselves by cleaning one room to another, it would be much more convenient to set a few clorox bombs off after settling and before the move. Right now all we can do is plan to puncture some holes in a few lysol cans spread throughout and let them set for a week before coming back to open the windows for an air out. Then we'll do the eternal room by room disinfection, but there absolutely must be a better way. And I would think with the real estate market being in the slumps with no positive end in sight, we'll be seeing much more neglected homes like this on the market with buyers dealing with our identical problem. That's without going in detail the number of foreclosures with who knows what's "growing" in their residences.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. This is very insightful. I think Sheraesixx disinfecting 'bomb' is a great idea! Posts like this really help our R&D departsment hear the need for a product like this. Thanks for the conversation!

I think with all the flooding that happened this summer, especially in PA,
A bomb like mentioned above would be useful if it killed mold & mildew.
That has been an ongoing battle after rains for days & flooding.
You can scrub but it is so hard to get it all in the cracks.A fine mist bomb would
get in places a cloth or brush will not.
Thanx to tcmkee for seconding my idea! Good luck with your new place if you get it!

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH THIS IDEA!
(I'm just disappointed I wasn't the first one to think of it! hehe)
I have a friend who just had pink eye and fortunately she's been spraying disinfectant spray non-stop since her diagnosis. I mentioned how nice it would be to just have a "bug bomb" of disinfectant so she could "bomb" the whole house, specifically her toy room. When I got back to my desk, I did a Google search and bam! it got some hits.
Anyhow, I know I would use it (especially if I had children who were more susceptible to illness or ran a daycare). My teacher friends would LOVE it! Cleaning and surface disinfecting is effective for areas you can reach, but germs can still spread out from the surfaces that you can't reach, or just didn’t even think to spray/wipe down!
Clorox, there's a market, and according to my minimal research Lysol refuses to take advantage of that...you'd be very wise to go with your consumers' suggestions before another big-name company swoops in and takes this idea!
