Behind or to the side of your furnace you will have a box with a hose connected to it from your furnace. It is an overflow unit with a hose leading to the exterior of your basement that directs the excess water from your air-conditioner so it does not run onto your basement floor. Lift the small cap on the unit and gently pour into the box one cup of Clorox bleach and replace the cap. When it is time to turn your A/C on the bleach will have freshen the unit and it then flushes thru the hose and removes any clogs in the hose going outdoors. Simple and Easy.
I make my own cleaner and fighter for mold and mildew. For some reason our white vinyl siding has areas of mold and mildew. I use an empty spray bottle, a little dish detergent, and clorox. Spray the house with it use the brush and it comes off. I don't have to worry about killing any plants since there is stone there and I don't want plants growing there anyway.
One of the things my entire household appreciates is convenience and scents. As a Mom I'm concerned with germs. I find myself spraying lysol...wiping things down with clorox wipes, lighting candles or replacing plug in's all the time. I asked my olded daughter while she was cleaning her white board with a clorox wipe. What do you think they could do to improve those...her answer...make them smell better. Makes sense.
Similar to DampRid, a product that absorbs moisture but that you can stick in various locations like a peel and stick air freshener. Then you can stick it behind the toilet and other hard to reach, damp places
I think most of us know the basics of mixing one part water and one part Clorox Bleach in a spray bottle and spraying the mold until it changes color. The bleach and water solution will not dissolve the mold. You will need to spray a few times and then wipe up the mold with a paper towel and REMOVE it to the trash outside of your house. Further work is needed to address the moisture in your home. If you go online to amazon.com, you can find a variety of low-cost, energy star rated humidifiers with a drip hose that can be secured to a sink or drain so you will never have to empty the collection reservoir. If you set the humidifier on LOW it will achieve the 45% humidity that you need to halt the growth of mold in your bathroom, basement or garage.
I took 24 inches of toilet paper, twisted and folded it into 6 inch lengths for strength, soaked it in pure Clorox, and laid it on the black, moldy bathtub caulking in long, narrow strips and left it overnight to bleach the caulk. Wet toilet paper is extremely fragile but if you are very careful, this can be done. In the morning when I removed the "dry" toilet paper, the caulking was white as it ever was, just like brand new. Flushed the old TP down the toilet
I would like to see a dispenser of this product like the pop up Baby Wipes which would be a heck of a lot easier to use, and ready to go. Could do the whole tub in less than 10 minutes and the results would be fantastic.
use clorox on mold. Problem solved!
,My Idea to avoid mold is to create a longhandle brush, with a bottle attached on the bottom of brush. The handle would be sturdy and hollow so water could go through it and mix with clorox product.(Safe FOR ALL PLANTS) This CLOROX RAPID RELEASE BRUSH would be used to clean vinyl siding on houses, garages and storage sheds.I would like to see a NEW CLEANING PRODUCT developed to clean the vinyl siding on house but safe for animals and plants that are around outside of homes. In this day and age we have to think about ecology making products safe outdoors for our animals and plants.
an organic gel that will kill mold & prevent it from spreading & is safe to use in places like along shower walls, drywall, wood, and stone materials
